YFIBIGO Canada – Organizational Overview

Youths for Intellectualism and Behavioural Improvement Global Outreach (YFIBIGO Canada) is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the moral, intellectual, emotional, and civic development of young people while fostering stronger, more inclusive communities.

Established as the Canadian chapter of the global YFIBIGO movement, the organization believes that sustainable social progress begins with the reconstruction of the human person. Behind many of today’s social challenges—mental distress, social isolation, bullying, substance misuse, identity struggles, youth violence, and civic disengagement—lies a deeper challenge: the need to rebuild values, purpose, character, and belonging.

YFIBIGO Canada exists to help young people discover meaning, develop resilience, strengthen their identity, and become responsible contributors to Canadian society. Through education, mentorship, cooperative leadership, community engagement, and evidence-informed advocacy, we equip youth with the knowledge, character, and practical skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Our philosophy recognizes that education should develop the whole person. Intellectual achievement must be accompanied by moral responsibility, emotional wellbeing, cultural understanding, and active citizenship. By integrating these elements, YFIBIGO promotes what we call humanizing education—an approach that prepares young people not only for employment, but also for meaningful lives of service, leadership, and community participation.

A Canadian Movement with a Global Outlook

Canada is one of the world’s most diverse nations. Its strength lies in the contributions of people from many cultures, languages, and traditions. YFIBIGO Canada embraces this diversity by creating opportunities for youth from every background to learn from one another, build lasting relationships, and contribute positively to their communities.

As part of the international YFIBIGO movement, the Canadian chapter also serves as a bridge between Canada and Africa, encouraging cross-cultural learning, diaspora engagement, youth exchange, mentorship, volunteerism, research collaboration, and community development.

We believe that global citizenship begins with responsible local citizenship.

Our Model of Youth Reconstruction
